UP Man Kills Mother After She Recommends His Younger Brother For Compassionate Job; Arrested

The victim had recommended her younger son's name for a job under the compassionate appointment scheme. Her elder son was agitated by this.

In a chilling case reported from a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda, a son allegedly murdered his own mother over a compassionate job. As per reports, the accused hit his mother with a sil batta (grinding stone), and his brother was also injured while trying to intervene.

As per a report by India Today, 58-year-old victim, Kanti Devi, was a sanitation worker in Gonda Nagar Palika. Her late husband was also employed with the municipal body. Following her husband’s death, Devi recommended her younger son’s name for a job under the compassionate appointment scheme.

The accused son, Sandeep Valmiki, was arrested, and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime and said, “Around four years ago, his mother had given a compassionate job in the Nagar Palika to his younger brother instead of him." He was agitated over this, and during one family dispute, he hit his mother with a sil batta.

The injured brother is admitted to a hospital and is under treatment.

16-Year-Old Boy Kills Mother With Axe

In another shocking incident reported from Haryana’s Kurukshetra, a 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his mother by hitting her on the head with an axe.

According to Ladwa Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Randhir Singh, the victim woman, identified as 45-year-old Mukesh Rani had been living separately from her husband after their divorce. The assault occurred at her home on Tuesday night, resulting in severe head injuries. Despite being rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain Hospital in Kurukshetra, Rani succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The DSP revealed that the boy, who had been residing with his father, is currently absconding following the incident. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack. The couple’s elder son is reported to be living abroad.
