Activists belonging to the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike took out a procession in the city on Thursday seeking upward revision in age limit of candidates for police recruitment.
The KRV said the upper age limit should be revised to 30 years for the general candidates and 33 years for SC/ST aspirants keen to appear for police recruitment process in the State.
The KRS said compared to other States, the cut-off age limits are low in Karnataka and though Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had promised to effectuate a change, it was yet to be done. Thousands of candidates from the lower income and middle income groups are preparing for the recruitment process which is expected to be announced in due course and hence the State government should immediately announce the upward revision in age limit, said the KRV district president Praveen Kumar.
