Usha Uthup attended a Kolkata event on Thursday marking the 32nd death anniversary of composer Rahul Dev Burman, where an AI-driven musical tribute was unveiled in his memory. The event featured the launch of a song sung by Uthup and composed by Shiladitya–Raj–Som, accompanied by a music video created using artificial intelligence to visually reimagine the late composer. Speaking at the event, Uthup referred to RD Burman’s continuing influence on Indian film music. “Pancham Da’s music continues to inspire generations. There is a whole generation who have grown up listening to his timeless compositions, and this is a humble tribute to a musical maverick who still inspires many music aficionados,” she said.

The tribute project combined contemporary technology with music to present RD Burman’s work to a new audience, while maintaining focus on his compositions. The AI-driven video was described as a creative attempt to revisit RD Burman’s presence on screen without altering his original musical legacy.
