Veronica Talreja on taking a break from acting, says, 'I decided to leave, I started getting calls for good projects'

Actress Veronica Talreja, known for 'Kumkum Bhagya', has paused her TV career to focus on studies and family in Indore.

Actress Veronica Talreja, best known for playing Mili in Kumkum Bhagya, has decided to take a break from doing TV as she is currently focusing on her studies. The actress has returned to her hometown, Indore, where she is resuming her studies and spending time with her family. Veronica was last seen in Chahenge Tumhe Itna, which aired from February to August 2024. Speaking about her decision, she says, “I didn’t really enjoy the hectic shooting schedule. Long workdays, tight deadlines and constant logistical changes were confusing for me. I realised television wasn’t for me. For actors in daily shows, schedules change at the last minute, making it difficult to plan your day. Most days, you also find yourself doing nothing.

Talking about the current television scenario, Veronica shares, “Many shows are getting cancelled or ending abruptly. Even if you crack a lead role on a popular channel, there’s no guarantee of what you’re taking back home. Actors work long hours but don’t enjoy the kind of fame TV actors once did.” Opening up about her own experience, she says, “I was working 13 hours a day for months and wasn’t rewarded with fame. Later, I shot for an OTT platform and was offered micro-series and vertical formats with three-to-four-day shoots, but I wasn’t enjoying it.

It didn’t interest me.” That’s when she decided to step back. “In December, I returned to Indore. I’m planning to resume my studies and also start my own business. Being home allows me to spend time with my family, which I missed while living in Mumbai. The moment I decided to leave, I started getting calls for good projects I decided to leave, I started getting calls for good projects. But this time, I chose to spend time with my parents. Never say never — I may return someday, but right now, I don’t feel like it.

Veronica has also been part of shows like Deewani, Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Tandav, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Laal Ishq.
