 Tourism dept to study model of other states

Patna: The state tourism department on Monday decided to study the calculation process used by other states to determine the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting their places.

Based on this study, a detailed presentation will be made to develop a scientific and reliable calculation system.The department also decided to conduct a detailed study on the feasibility of constructing a hotel near Karamchat Dam in Kaimur to promote adventure tourism.A meeting was held under the chairmanship of tourism secretary Nilesh Ramchandra Devre to review the progress of departmental schemes. The meeting decided that all employees and service providers would be given special training in collaboration with a reputed institution to provide a better experience to tourists visiting all tourist places in Bihar and ensure courteous behaviour.“The department has decided to strengthen digital promotion and publicity of Bihar tourism by ensuring a strong presence on social media channels, websites, and apps. I will conduct regular review meetings every Monday to review the progress of all departmental schemes. The review will include comparative progress of the previous week and the current week, along with relevant photos, in the presentation,” Devre said.

The secretary further said that the managing director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (BSTDC) has been directed to explore possibilities of providing four-wheeler vehicles for dignitaries, distinguished and VIP guests visiting Bihar.
