Heather Gay, star of 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,' is stepping into a new powerful role as the host of 'Surviving Mormonism,' Bravo’s upcoming three-part docuseries, where she investigates claims of abuse in the Mormon church.

In her new limited series, Gay takes a deep and candid look into the Mormon religion.The series plans to bring out the polished image and controversial side of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by exposing what it defines as the church's "perfect veneer" to uncover the stories of abuse, secrecy, and resilience. Each one-hour episode features raw, emotional conversations with survivors, former members, and ex-church leaders.

Gay has candidly discussed her decision to leave the Mormon Church in both her memoir, 'Bad Mormon,' and on 'The Real Housewives.

'Heather, who has been open about her own journey of leaving the LDS Church, brings authenticity and empathy to the series. On Instagram, she expressed gratitude for those who came forward, remarking, “Deeply grateful to the brave participants who shared their stories of faith and survival for this docuseries.

I know when you hear them you will feel the same.”

Heather Jill Gay, born on June 29, 1974, in Carmel, California, is an American television personality, entrepreneur, and author best known for her candid role on 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.'

Since the show’s debut in 2020, she’s become one of its standout figures, admired for her honesty and humor, especially about life after leaving the Mormon Church—a story she also shares in her memoir 'Bad Mormon.' Later, she appeared in 'The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip' (Season 3), alongside her cousin and co-star Whitney Rose.Heather was previously married to Frank William “Billy” Gay III, with whom she shares three daughters. The couple wed in 2000 at the Laie Hawaii Temple and divorced in 2014 after 11 years together.
