His collaborator Asad Mecci announced that the next set of HYPROV shows will be delayed to allow Mochrie the necessary time to recuperate.

Colin Mochrie, the famed star from ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’, recently had to undergo an emergency surgery. According to a recent social media post shared by his touring partner, Asad Mecci, the comedian will have to postpone some of his shows to recover from the medical procedure.

Colin Mochrie undergoes emergency surgery

In a recent social media post and joint statement, Asad Mecci, touring partner and one part of the traveling hypnosis-improv fusion show HYPROV, shared a statement about how Colin Mochrie will not be able to perform for some of the upcoming shows, and they will have to be postponed to a later date. He shared that Mochire had been diagnosed with a detached retina.

The condition called for a medical emergency, and he had to undergo a major eye surgery to fix his retina.

“His medical team is optimistic about his full recovery, but he needs time to rest and heal,” he further shared in the social media post.

Asad Mecci apologizes to fans

He further apologized to the group's fans and shared that they will soon return to the stage once Colin has recovered from the surgery. “We understand this news is disappointing for those who were looking forward to the performances, and we truly appreciate your understanding. We are currently working on rescheduling the shows, and all tickets will be honored for the new dates.

If you are unable to attend the rescheduled performances, we will provide information on how to request a refund,” the post further revealed.

More about Colin Mochrie and Asad Mecci

The duo had been on tour for their travelling act since mid-December last year. They were next planned to perform at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls on January 2 and 3, as well as at Washington and Oregon venues at later dates. Colin’s medical emergency has postponed all of the show dates, with no definite answer at to when the shows will be rescheduled.
