As rumours about his death continue to circulate on social media, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released another video on Monday wherein he was seen interacting with civilians.

“Sticking to the guidelines and winning together," the post read.

However, some netizens noticed that a ring on his finger appears to vanish as he moves his arm in the video.

“BREAKING: WHY DOES NETANYAHU’S RING DISAPPEAR AS HE MOVES HIS ARM… Is this also AI??" wrote one person on X.

The video has reignited debate about whether the footage is genuine or generated by artificial intelligence. The video showed Netanyahu casually walking outdoors and interacting with civilians in Israel.

The latest video came a day after the Israeli leader dismissed rumours circulating online that he had been killed in an Iranian strike, and posted a video where he joked about the claims while casually sipping coffee.

In the video message, Netanyahu was seen ordering coffee, expressing his love for the same. Referring to the false claims about his death, he joked, “I am dead for coffee," using a common Hebrew expression that means deep fondness for something.

“I love my nation to death," he said, hailing the citizens of Israel for standing firm during the ongoing conflict with Iran.

However, the attempt at satire drew further scrutiny after Grok, the AI chatbot developed by xAI, responded to a user query by asserting that the video was AI-generated.

Grok claimed the clip was a deepfake, alleging that no real-world event matching the video had taken place and suggesting the content was created using advanced, unreleased AI tools.

The video came as social media discussions about Netanyahu’s death were amplified by Iran’s state new agency IRNA which posted on X that Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) had vowed to kill Netanyahu “if he is still alive." Tehran’s Tasnim news agency alleged “pressure on Netanyahu to dispel rumours of his death or injury."

Speculation around Netanyahu escalated last week after social media users circulated images from an earlier clip that appeared to show him with six fingers, triggering conspiracy theories amid heightened tensions following the US-Israel conflict with Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory strikes that have rattled the Gulf region.
