At least nine people died in a tragic stampede at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam during Ekadashi celebrations. Disturbing videos show scores of women trapped in a narrow corridor, clutching puja baskets and screaming for help as the crowd surged forward.

Some devotees can be seen climbing railings in panic, while others attempted to pull them to safety. The chaos erupted when thousands of worshippers gathered for the sacred occasion, overwhelming the temple’s narrow passageways and leading to one of the worst tragedies in the region in recent years.
