SBS will officially premiere its newest weekend drama, '

', on October 5 with

headlining the show as two unlikely partners who agree to a
fake marriage
arrangement. MK Sports reported that the story begins when Yoo Mery (Jung So-min), a design company CEO, wins a luxury home in a promotional event. But in order to claim the property, she has to be married. To outsmart the condition, she proposes a 90-day fake marriage to Kim Woo-ju (Choi Woo-sik), a bakery heir who shares the same name as her ex-fiance.
Sparkling chemistry between the leads
Choi Woo-sik steps into the role of Kim Woo-ju, the warm yet free-spirited heir to a family-run bakery. Opposite him, Jung So-min plays Yoo Mery, a smart and grounded businesswoman. Their chemistry has been so natural on set that several spontaneous lines and playful arguments were eventually kept in the filmed scenes, according to sources from the production team.
Unscripted flour fight
One of the most memorable behind-the-scenes episodes took place when Choi Woo-sik attempted to knead dough during filming. In a comic mishap, flour flew everywhere, covering Jung So-min from head to toe. Instead of frustration, laughter filled the set as she embraced the accident, causing the production team to re-shoot the scene multiple times. The incident highlighted the easy rapport between the two leads, building anticipation for their believable "fake couple" dynamic.
Building anticipation ahead of debut
SBS is counting on 'Would You Marry Me' to boost its weekend drama lineup. The inventive premise - a marriage of convenience wrapped around a dream house prize - blends humour with tender emotions, ensuring wide appeal. Online forums and social media have already started buzzing, with fans marking their calendars for the comic and heartfelt journey of this mismatched pair.
