WWE SmackDown Result And Highlights: Dragunov Defends US Title, Drew McIntyre Claims Main Event

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown featured high-energy promos, surprise attacks, and quite a few standout matches. From Cody Rhodes clashing with Drew McIntyre to Jade Cargill’s shocking heel turn, the show had plenty of moments that kept fans hooked.

The night opened with a tense face-off, followed by several thrilling bouts, including tag team action, a United States Championship Open Challenge, and a heated No Disqualification main event.

Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre Trade Words

SmackDown saw Cody Rhodes addressing the crowd, but his promo was quickly interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who called the fans “accomplices" in Rhodes’s so-called crimes. McIntyre insisted he would “finish his story" next weekend and denied attacking Jacob Fatu last week, hinting that Jimmy Uso might be behind it.

Rhodes tried to provoke McIntyre into a fight, but before he could enter the ring, Jimmy Uso appeared and attacked him for pointing fingers. Solo Sikoa and the MFTs then joined the chaos, setting up the first match of the night.

MFTs Vs Rey Fenix and Shinsuke Nakamura

The opening tag match saw Tama Tonga and Shinsuke Nakamura start things off with a quick exchange of strikes. Fenix and JC Mateo took over as the pace picked up. Fenix and Nakamura initially dominated, but during the break, the MFTs turned things around by isolating Fenix.

After the break, Nakamura tagged in and went on the attack, delivering his signature kicks. Just as the match grew intense, Solo Sikoa distracted the referee, allowing Tama Tonga to chokeslam Fenix on the apron. Tama Tonga then landed a running elbow for the pin.

Result: MFTs defeated Fenix and Nakamura.

Kiana James Vs Tiffany Stratton

Next up, Tiffany Stratton faced Kiana James in a non-title singles match. Giulia accompanied James and provided plenty of distractions from the ringside. Stratton started strong with arm drags and holds, but James gained control after a ringside attack.

When the match resumed after the break, Stratton rallied and sealed the win with a swanton followed by the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. After the bell, Giulia attacked Stratton, but Jade Cargill ran out to help. In a surprise twist, Cargill turned on Stratton moments later, officially going heel.

Result: Tiffany Stratton defeated Kiana James.

United States Championship Open Challenge

Ilja Dragunov addressed the crowd about his comeback before issuing an open challenge for his US title. Aleister Black accepted, accompanied by Zelina Vega. Both men skipped the usual slow start, trading heavy strikes right away.

Vega interfered mid-match, helping Black gain control, but was eventually caught and ejected from the ringside. Damian Priest appeared soon after, distracting Black and allowing Dragunov to hit Torpedo Moscow for the victory. Priest then attacked Black, but Vega helped him escape through the crowd.

Result: Ilja Dragunov defeated Aleister Black.

Jimmy Uso Vs Drew McIntyre: No Disqualification Match

The main event saw Jimmy Uso take on Drew McIntyre in a brutal No DQ match. The fight began in the aisle before spilling into the crowd. McIntyre controlled most of the match until Uso caught him with a sharp kick that sent him out of the ring.

Despite a few close calls, McIntyre regained momentum. He threw a chair into Uso’s face and followed it up with a powerful Claymore Kick to secure the win.

Result: Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Uso.
