Youth held with suspected MDMA from Muvattupuzha

A youth was arrested for allegedly possessing 69 grams of suspected MDMA. The arrested is Bilal Madathil, 21, from Muvattupuzha, the police said on Wednesday (January 14, 2026).

He was nabbed in a combined operation by the Aluva police and the anti-narcotics special squad of the Ernakulam Rural Police. The police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a private tourist bus coming from Bengaluru and frisked Bilal.

The suspected narcotic substance was found hidden in a pocket inside his jacket. It was meant to be sold among youth in the city and the suburbs, police sources said.
