Youth told to opt for courses offered in Advanced Technology Centres

Labour & Employment Minister, G Vivek Venkatswamy said that learning more than one skill enhances the chances of employment and opportunities for youth, and the government is committed to provide skill development ambience through various measures.

Skill competitions are a great opportunity for young people and these help enhance and refine the existing skills, he said while speaking at the closing ceremony of India Skills 2025 competitions on Saturday.

The Minister said that State government is aiming for $3 trillion economy in next few years. If the economy grows, new industries come up and thus the requirement of skilled youth enhances automatically. Skilled youth get more and more opportunities in this competitive world, he said.

He recalled how the State government is establishing 115 Advanced Technology Centres (ATC) in order to provide futuristic training for the youth. Such centres do not exist anywhere else in the country, he said, and urged the youth to opt for courses offered in ATCs.

Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment, Dana Kishore, said zonal competitions were conducted for the India Skill 2025 competitions, and 240 candidates were selected across 40 categories.
