10 jailed for drunk driving in Vijayawada

The court awarded two days imprisonment to 10 persons who were booked in drunk driving cases.

The traffic police conducted special drive at various junctions in Vijayawada and registered cases against 57 vehicle riders for driving in inebriated condition, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Traffic) Shareen Begum on Wednesday.

The court gave two days jail term to 10 persons and imposed a fine of ₹4.75 lakh fine on the remaining accused, the DCP said.
