Honda Cars India has released the first official teaser of the updated Honda City ahead of its India launch on May 22, 2026. The teaser image shows the sedan covered under a cover, with only the slim LED DRLs visible.
The updated City is expected to receive cosmetic revisions, feature additions and cabin updates while continuing with the same engine options. The sedan will continue to rival the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia in the segment.
2026 Honda City Facelift: What to expect
In terms of design, the facelifted City is expected to feature a sharper front fascia with revised LED lighting elements, updated bumpers and a refreshed grille design.
Multiple leaked images show a slimmer grille and honeycomb/mesh-inspired treatment.
The side profile is likely to remain largely unchanged, including the roofline and overall silhouette. However, the updated sedan is expected to get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the bumper design is expected to be revised, along with updated tail-lamps and vertically positioned reflectors.Inside the cabin, the facelifted sedan could get additions such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and an updated infotainment system with improved connectivity features.
Revised upholstery and new interior colour themes are also expected. However, the overall dashboard layout is likely to remain similar to the current model.Mechanically, the sedan is expected to continue with the existing powertrain options. The standard model will likely retain the 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. Honda is also expected to continue offering the strong hybrid version with a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine combined with an electric motor, delivering 124 hp and 253 Nm of torque.
