BJP Andhra Pradesh president P.V.N. Madhav on Sunday (February 15) described the State budget for 2026–27 as progressive and forward-looking and a clear roadmap for Andhra Pradesh’s development.
Addressing a teleconference with BJP State spokespersons and media panellists, Mr. Madhav said the budget presented by Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav is built on three core principles — wealth creation, development and welfare. He directed party representatives to effectively communicate the combined vision of the Central and State budgets to the public.
Highlighting the key features, he said the budget proposes a record outlay of ₹3.32 lakh crore with an ambitious growth target of 11.25%. He termed the move to limit the revenue deficit to 1.86% as a sign of fiscal discipline.
Mr. Madhav attributed the momentum to what he called the “double engine” model of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. With the Centre’s full support, he said, the budget lays the foundation for building a “Viksit Andhra Pradesh” contributing to a “Viksit Bharat.”
On industrial growth, he said the budget aims to attract nearly $15 billion (₹1.35 lakh crore) in investments, including collaborations with global technology major Google. He also noted efforts to advance projects such as Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and the Rare Earth Corridor.
Mr. Madhav pointed out that a comprehensive ₹30,000-crore plan has been prepared to transform Rayalaseema into a Global Horticulture Hub. He also described the creation of A.P. Wealth Fund as an innovative step to ensure long-term development and serve as a seed corpus for future investments.
Stating that welfare schemes such as NTR Bharosa, Annapurna Canteens and free power for farmers have been continued, he said the government has also prioritised infrastructure, education and healthcare.
He urged party leaders to widely publicise the achievements of the “double engine government” through social and mainstream media platforms, emphasising that the budget is not merely about numbers but about shaping the State’s future.
