She was very sweet and helpful

Aditya Deshmukh expressed his shock and grief over the untimely demise of Priya Marathe, his co-star from the Marathi courtroom drama 'Jai Stute.'

Actor Aditya Deshmukh has expressed shock and grief over the passing of actor Priya Marathe, recalling their time together on the Marathi TV show Jai Stute. “I mean, it's really unfortunate that life is so unpredictable.

I don’t even understand how to react to it,” Deshmukh said. “About7-8 years ago, we did a show together Jai Stute. It was based on court proceedings.

She was the face of that show and the main lead. She played a lawyer fighting against injustice. The way she worked, I would say she was one of the finest actors the Marathi industry has ever gotten. I had a good time working with her and she used to help me because I was new and not done a marathi show earlier. Marathe, who was also seen in Hindi television shows like Pavitra Rishta as Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, had a career spanning impactful roles across genres. “She was a superstar in Marathi TV. At the age of 38, to know that she’s no more—it’s very shocking for us. It’s very difficult to digest. We never thought something like this was happening to her. She never told us anything,” Deshmukh shared. Recalling her versatility, Deshmukh highlighted her performance in the show Tu Tithe Mee. “She played a negative role in that show, and she was outstanding. And the same girl, off-shoot, would laugh, joke, and have lunch with us. She had a motherly instinct, cared for her co-stars. As a friend, she was the best friend anyone could have. She has always been very sweet and caring.”
