Ranchi: Residents would soon be able to avail advanced medical care for 21 critical diseases at four govt hospitals — Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), Ranchi; Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Memorial Medical College and Hospital, Dhanbad; Sadar Hospital, Ranchi; and MGM Medical College and Hospital, Jamshedpur.This was announced by the health department following a review meeting held under the aegis of additional chief secretary (ACS) (health) Ajoy Kumar Singh on Tuesday.Singh said, “All treatments will be provided under the Chief Minister Abua Health Security Scheme, ensuring predefined packages and hassle-free access to quality healthcare. Special emphasis is being laid on sickle cell anaemia treatment, and comprehensive facilities will be developed at Sadar Hospital.
An MoU will be signed with CMC Vellore to enable bone marrow transplant in state.”Treatment can be availed for all types of cancer, kidney transplant, severe liver diseases, acid attack injuries, blood disorders such as thalassaemia and Wiskott–Aldrich syndrome, besides conditions requiring bone marrow transplant.Advanced procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting with intra-aortic balloon pump (CABG + IABP), critical care for serious head injuries, retinal detachment surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery for trauma and burns, and renal replacement therapy for ICU patients are on the anvil.
Additional coverage includes treatment for congenital deformities, brain haemorrhage, cochlear implants, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and other complex surgical and medical interventions.Besides the four govt hospitals, treatment will also be made available at major private hospitals, including Paras HEC Hospital, Manipal Hospitals, Samford Hospital, Medanta Hospital, Raj Hospital, across the state.
