After Donald Trump delays US strikes on Iran, Israel hits targets in the heart of Tehran as Iran denies talks with Washington and warns over Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump said that the US and Iran have had two days of detailed discussions aimed at a complete resolution of hostilities in the Middle East.
Hours after US President Donald Trump announced a delay in strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure, the Israeli military on Mondau said it is conducting strikes in the “heart of Tehran".
According to Iran’s Fars news agency, several locations in Tehran have been targeted in the latest wave of attacks.

CNN quoted the Iranian Red Crescent Society saying that it is “searching beneath the debris of a residential building in Tehran to find a child."
This came hours after Trump said in a post on Truth Social, “I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East."
He said that the US and Iran have had two days of detailed discussions aimed at a complete resolution of hostilities in the Middle East.
“Based on the tenor and tone of these in‑depth, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five‑day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions," he added.

Meanwhile, Iran’s state media shared a post on X saying, “Trump, fearing Iran’s response, backed down from his 48-hour ultimatum."
It also shared a previous statement by the military that stated, “If US attacks Iran’s power plants: Strait of Hormuz will be closed until damaged plats are built and Israel’s power, energy and ICT infrastructure will be targeted…"
Iran has also denied Trump’s claims of dialogue with Washington. CNN quoted Mehr News stating that the foreign ministry has said there are “initiatives" from regional countries to “reduce tensions" but “our response to all of them is clear: we are not the party that started this war, and all these requests should be referred to Washington".
