AIADMK to hold district-wise review meetings for labour union

Chennai: AIADMK will conduct district-wise review meetings for its labour wing — Anna Labour Union and its allied associations — from June 29 to July 20. R Tamilarasan, the newly appointed secretary of the union, will chair the meetings to discuss action plans and development activities.The aim is to revamp and strengthen the labour wing, which includes units in state transport and civil supplies, to arrest the erosion of its worker base. This restructuring follows the recent exit of former secretary R Kamalakannan, who defected to chief minister C Vijay Joseph’s TVK, taking several Anna Labour Union members with him and weakening the AIADMK wing.Following instructions from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, the party has directed district functionaries to make all necessary arrangements. Members have been directed to attend meetings and actively share their views.
