Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday morning. According to the DGCA, all five people on board the chartered flight from Mumbai to Baramati—including two crew members and three others, comprising Pawar, his personal security officer, and an attendant—lost their lives when the aircraft crash-landed at 8.45 am near the runway threshold in Baramati.

Preliminary reports suggest technical issues with the plane. The pilot attempted an emergency landing, but the aircraft appears to have gone out of control, resulting in the fatal crash. Further details about the incident are awaited.
