Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, died in a plane crash on Wednesday, January 28. Three other people also lost their lives in the tragic plane crash. According to reports, Pawar was flying from Mumbai to Baramati. The plane, which took off from Mumbai around 8 am, crashed near Baramati airport about an hour later while attempting to land.

As of now, few details have emerged about the incident, including the cause of the crash. The tragic incident has led to discussion about the causes of plane crashes. There are several factors that can lead to a plane falling down, including pilot errors such as poor decisions and loss of situational awareness. Mechanical failures like bird strikes are also a common cause.

Adverse weather conditions like poor visibility or wind shear can affect the route of flights and even cause crashes. The landing phase is most prone to incidents due to runway issues or proximity to ground obstacles. Private jets, on the other hand, also face specific risks such as inadequate flight checks, defective parts and shorter runways at smaller airports. These flights operate in unstable conditions that often get intensified since the operations are conducted by a single pilot.
