A US-based medical professional has warned against President Donald Trump’s deteriorating cognitive functions after his rant on Iran amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Dr Vin Gupta, who identifies himself as a senior medical analyst for MS Now News on X, posted on the social media platform that President Trump is showing “all the signs of dementia".

This is not the first time Dr Gupta, who is a lung specialist, has raised concerns over 79-year-old Trump’s health. This time, he pointed out that the President is exhibiting the classic hallmarks of dementia like erratic behaviour, confusion, “illogical train of thought", and “word finding difficulties".

“Erratic. Can’t finish sentences. Often confused. Illogical train of thought. Word finding difficulties," Dr Gupta said in a post on X. “Developing and worsening gradually over time. The President is exhibiting all the signs of dementia."

Dr Gupta’s warning was triggered soon after a series of bizarre social media posts by Trump over the Easter holiday.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

According to the medical professional, such episodes are not isolated but part of a broader, more troubling clinical picture. In January, too, he claimed that these signs represent a “trend line" of cognitive deterioration.

“He’s the president of the United States so let’s hope, beyond the headlines, that he is getting the care that he needs," he told MeidasTouch

The White House, however, has dismissed all of these claims labelling them as political bias and “insane conspiracy theories" concocted by “deranged liberals". The speculation over Trump’s health, however, was more intensified because his remarks on April 5 came after a brief period of silence on social media.

Dr Gupta’s comments are, however, unrelated to Trump’s “whole civilisation will die" threat that he issued on Tuesday, hours before the 8 pm “deadline" set by the US for Iran to respond to negotiations to end the war.
