Amit Shah to inaugurate ethanol plant in Bargarh on July 4

Bhubaneswar: Union home minister Amit Shah will inaugurate BPCL’s ethanol plant in Bargarh on July 4 and address a public meeting, Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit said on Monday. Shah will also attend a series of programmes in Sambalpur the next day.On his two-day visit, Shah will stay overnight in Sambalpur after the Bargarh event and return on July 5 following engagements in the city. “The visit is expected to energise the BJP organisation and could shape political equations ahead of next year’s three-tier panchayat polls,” Purohit said.The MP said BJP workers are excited for Shah’s forthcoming visit.The BPCL’s integrated 1G and 2G bio-ethanol refinery in Bargarh is grain-based and produces fuel-grade bioethanol from rice straw using advanced technology. The Rs 1,775 crore project, developed under the Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN Yojana, will have a capacity of 200 kilolitres per day, with equal production of first-generation and second-generation ethanol. The integrated plant supports India’s E20 ethanol blending programme and national biofuels policy.In Sambalpur, the home minister will take part in some govt programmes apart from closed-door organisational meetings and a public meeting, BJP insiders said.
