The Saraswata Gaudiya Vaishnava Association (SGVA), a confederation of over 50 Gaudiya Vaishnava organisations spread all over India, are observing the yearlong celebrations to commemorate the 152nd birth anniversary of His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada, the founder of Gaudiya Math.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada is one of India’s most charismatic spiritual leaders in modern times who spread the teachings of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Gaudiya Vaishnavism from Myanmar to London even when India was under the colonial rule of the British Empire.

During his lifetime, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada opened 64 temples of the Gaudiya Math, authored over 40 books and delivered countless lectures to uplift the spiritual consciousness of the society for the welfare of one and all.

In the course of the yearlong celebrations across the world organised by all the Saraswata Gaudiya Vaishnava institutions, various programmes such as public lectures, seminars, festivals and exhibitions will be held to help the public learn and benefit from the life and teachings of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada.

As a part of these celebrations, a commemoration ceremony will be held on 18th February 2026 at Sri Mayapur Dham (West Bengal) wherein the Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah, is expected to join to offer his homage to this great spiritual ambassador.

His Holiness Bhaktivedanta Janardhan Swami (President of SGVA) will also be addressing the audience in the presence of His Holiness Bhakti Vaibhava Narayana Swami (Secretary – SGVA) and His Grace Madhumangal Das (Secretary – SGVA).

The Saraswata Gaudiya Vaishnava institutions are engaged in various forms of spiritual, cultural and social activities to promote Krishna Bhakti as per the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu without any discrimination of race, gender, caste or creed.
