Bhopal: Around 10% of registered candidates did not appear for the re-NEET exam in Bhopal on Sunday, official data showed.Of 13,775 students registered, 12,299 took the exam while 1,476 were absent.
The turnout was 610 lower than the May exam. Students who failed to reach centers by 1:30 PM were also marked absent.Statewide, about 118,000 students sat for the exam.The re-exam was held after a paper leak in the earlier test, with enhanced security measures this time. For the first time, the Air Force, CRPF, and district administration managed the process.Question papers were flown to Bhopal by an Air Force aircraft three days prior and kept in bank lockers.On exam day, the papers were transported to the capital’s 32 centers, accompanied by a magistrate and a CRPF contingent. Entry was permitted from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, after which the gates were closed. The exam was scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
