Following the incident, some pushing and shoving was reported between the police and locals.

It is being alleged that a group of Muslims from inside the Panka masjid objected to the procession, while the DJ song being played included the line “banayenge mandir".

As the Shivaji Jayanti procession continued to move slowly in front of the mosque, the Muslim community got into an argument with the police and reportedly questioned them on why such songs were being allowed.

The police dispersed the people immediately after the incident and brought the situation under control. As a precautionary measure, increased security has been provided near Panka Masjid and Kotaleshwar Temple. Along with this, a heavy police force has been deployed at the spot.
