Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin is set to chair a crucial meeting of the party in the national capital on Monday afternoon, as the BJP gears up to mark 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.

The meeting assumes significance as it comes at a time when the party is finalising plans for a nationwide outreach campaign to commemorate the anniversary of the NDA government’s tenure.

Several senior leaders, including national office-bearers, general secretaries, state presidents, national vice-presidents, national secretaries, heads of various morchas, and members of the party’s communication and media teams, have been invited to attend the meeting at the BJP’s extension office in New Delhi.

Sources indicate that a few Union Ministers tasked with coordinating anniversary-related programmes between the government and the organisation may also participate in the discussions.

As part of the broader preparations, a meeting of Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states has also been scheduled for June 10 to chalk out plans for the year-long celebrations and public outreach initiatives.

The meeting on Monday is also politically significant as it comes at a time when Nabin, who assumed charge as BJP president earlier this year, is yet to announce his new national team. Party insiders suggest that the organisational reshuffle could be unveiled shortly.

Many within the party believe this could be the final meeting for some of the current office-bearers, with the new president expected to induct fresh faces while maintaining a balance between experience and youth in the organisation.

Sources further indicate that discussions over the new organisational structure are taking place alongside speculation of a possible Union Cabinet reshuffle. It is learnt that some leaders currently holding organisational responsibilities may be moved into government roles, while certain ministers could be assigned responsibilities within the party organisation.

The BJP has recently accelerated the process of appointing state presidents. The party announced four new state chiefs, including in Delhi, where Union Minister Harsh Malhotra replaced Virendra Sachdeva, who had led the BJP’s successful Assembly election campaign in the national capital. The party has also named its state president in poll-bound Punjab.

However, Karnataka remains the notable exception. Despite multiple rounds of consultations and meetings in the state, the BJP is yet to announce its new state president. The decision is being keenly watched as incumbent president B.Y. Vijayendra, son of veteran BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa, continues in the post.

The organisational overhaul is being viewed as crucial in light of the demanding electoral calendar ahead. The BJP will face key Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand next year, where it is currently in power. Punjab, another important electoral battleground, is also scheduled to go to polls around the same period and remains a major target for the BJP as it seeks to expand its footprint in the state.

Later in the year 2027, Gujarat will head to elections, a contest that carries special significance for the BJP given that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah hail from the state.

Nitin Nabin was appointed BJP Working President in December 2025 and was subsequently elected as the party’s national president in January 2026, becoming the youngest person to hold the post. In April this year, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Bihar, further cementing his rise within the party hierarchy.
