Body of missing man recovered from dam in Chatra

Chatra: The body of a 40-year-old man, who was missing since Monday evening, was recovered from Heru Dam outside the town on Tuesday. The deceased, Ranjeet Kumar Saw,was a resident of Nagwan.

Ranjeet’s younger brother, Krishna Saw, spotted the body floating in the reservoir.Saw’s family ruled out foul play and suspected that Ranjeet may have slipped into the reservoir and fallen into deep water, leading to his drowning. Awadhesh Singh, the officer-in charge of Sadar police station, said the body was sent for post-mortem examination. “Further action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem examination,” Singh said.
