Bihar's Complex Resource Centres are evolving from traditional administrative hubs into lively centers of academic innovation. A recent workshop highlighted essential support for educators, the incorporation of cutting-edge digital tools, and the pursuit of foundational learning goals through the NIPUN Bihar initiative.
Patna: A capacity-building workshop was held on Monday at a hotel here to reactivate Complex Resource Centres (CRCs) as “academic hubs” rather than mere administrative reporting offices.
Organised by the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) in collaboration with Mantra Social Services, the workshop brought together quality education coordinators and CRC facilitators from every district. The aim is to shift CRCs into collaborative spaces that prioritise teacher support, ensure the effective utilisation of grant funds, implement digital tools such as Virtual Labs and Vidya Boards, and achieve foundational learning goals through NIPUN Bihar and project-based learning.
Central to the session was the achievement of foundational literacy and numeracy goals through NIPUN Bihar and the integration of project-based learning. The workshop highlighted the importance of diverse programmes such as Science Clubs, the National Invention Campaign, Eco Clubs, and the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" initiative. Facilitators were urged to maximise the use of existing physical resources, including computers, libraries, and teaching learning material grants, while ensuring that all expenditure was meticulously documented to maintain transparency and efficiency.
To institutionalise these reforms, a new standard operating procedure was introduced, mandating regular school visits and monthly academic meetings facilitated by subject-matter experts.Participants concluded the session with a shared commitment to revitalising these resource centres, expressing confidence that the structured interventions would lead to measurable improvements in student learning outcomes across the state in upcoming academic sessions.
