The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) on Friday issued appointment orders to 293 junior power men.
CESC chairman and Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, MLA, urged the recruits to discharge their duties with dedication, honesty, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Addressing the newly selected candidates during the counselling and appointment order distribution ceremony held at the corporation’s office in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage here, he said that securing employment has become increasingly difficult and advised the recruits to value the opportunity.
Highlighting the risks involved in the power sector, he cautioned that even a moment of negligence could prove fatal. “Listen to every instruction given during training and strictly follow the directions of senior officers. When members of the public approach you with complaints, respond with courtesy and respect,” he advised.
He said more than 3,000 power men have been recruited across the State through a transparent and merit-based process and without any confusion or hurdles. “You have been selected purely on merit,” he said.
CESC managing director K.M. Munigopal Raju said the recruitment was conducted in a fully transparent manner and warned candidates against entertaining any recommendations or pressure tactics. “There is no scope for influence. The process has been fair and transparent. Do not listen to middlemen. Take charge at your assigned locations and perform your duties responsibly,” he said.
“Power men joining the CESC family must work like soldiers with discipline and alertness. After securing the job, no one should attempt to exert pressure from any quarter. Perform with integrity,” he added.
Senior officials, including CFO G. Renuka, general manager (internal audit) Lingarajamma, general manager B.R. Roopa, and Hassan division chief engineer Lokesh, were present.
The endurance test for the junior power men posts was conducted on May 16, 2025. Following multiple stages of evaluation, 293 candidates were finalised. During Friday’s counselling session, posting orders were issued based on merit and preference.
