Civilian injured in landmine explosion in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district

A civilian was injured in an explosion in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Wednesday (February 11, 2026).

In the Pir Panjal Valley’s Poonch district, an old landmine went off and injured a civilian. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Battar Nallah.

Officials said Bilal Ahmad, 16, a resident of Banpath village, was loading sand into a tractor at Battar Nallah when the device exploded. The injured civilian was shifted to a hospital by locals.

Security forces launched a search operation following the incident to find undetonated devices in the area, officials said.
