IMD predicts scattered rainfall, snowfall on February 13, 16 and 17, affecting Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal, Uttarakhand.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted scattered rainfall and snowfall over the Western Himalayan region on February 13, 16 and 17.

In a post on X, IMD said: “Under the influence of three Western Disturbances in quick succession, isolated to scattered rainfall/snowfall is likely over the Western Himalayan region— the first on the 10th, the second on the 13th, and the third during 16th–17th February 2026."

According to an official statement, isolated rainfall/snowfall is likely to take place over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 13 and 16.

“Isolated rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning likely over Punjab and Haryana Chandigarh on 16th February," it stated.

The weather department further said that there will be a gradual rise in minimum temperature likely over of the eastern part of India by about 2-3°C during next three days and no significant change thereafter.

However, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures likely over rest parts of the country, the IMD said.

“No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours and gradual rise by 2-3°C for subsequent four days and no significant change thereafter," it said.

For Delhi and NCR region, the weather department has predicted that the maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday will likely be in the range of 24°C to 26°C and 10°C to 12°C, respectively.

“The predominant surface wind is likely to be from the west direction with wind speed reaching up to 10 kmph during the morning hours. The wind speed will increase becoming up to 20 kmph from northwest direction during the afternoon. The wind speed will decrease becoming up to 16 kmph from the northwest direction during evening and night," it stated.
