College student kills self after parents scold her

Trichy: A 19-year-old college student killed herself at her home in Trichy on Sunday night after being reprimanded by her parents for excessive use of mobile phone.Police identified the deceased as N Srina, 19, from Woraiyur.

Police said Srina was studying first-year BSc at a private college near Chathiram bus stand. Her parents disapproved her frequent mobile phone usage.

On Sunday night, they reprimanded her again. Later the same night, she killed herself, police said.Police recovered the body and sent it to Trichy MGMGH for postmortem.
