CPI demands release of unemployment allowance, housing grant in Andhra Pradesh

Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K. Ramakrishna on Saturday demanded that the State government release the unemployment allowance promised by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the run-up to the 2024 general elections.

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Ramakrishna also urged the government to provide a grant of ₹5 lakh for beneficiaries to construct houses on sites to be allotted under the housing scheme.

He further alleged that the State government was neglecting public universities across Andhra Pradesh.
