Basketball icon Michael Jordan is making the rounds on online circles again, and this time for a viral clip from the Daytona 500.
The 63-year-old was trackside on Sunday in Daytona Beach, Florida, celebrating a landmark win for his NASCAR team, 23XI Racing. Driver Tyler Reddick delivered the victory, sending Jordan into full championship mode.
“I can’t even believe it. It was so gratifying. … I’m ecstatic. I don’t even know what to say. It feels like I won a championship, but until I get my ring, I won’t even know," Jordan said afterwards.
For a man with six NBA titles, that’s saying something.
The Viral Moment
The buzz, however, isn’t just about the win.
A video circulating online shows Jordan interacting with Reddick’s young son, Beau, in the post-race celebrations.
In the clip, Jordan appears to reach toward the child’s back, prompting mixed reactions across social media.
Some viewers questioned the moment. Others quickly pushed back, suggesting it was harmless.
Several fans pointed out that Beau’s shirt appeared soaked during the ice-filled celebration and speculated Jordan was simply helping remove ice that had slipped under the child’s clothing.
NASCAR podcaster Bubba The Love Sponge Clem backed that explanation.
“Tyler Reddick’s son had a chunk of ice… Michael Jordan tried to help a little kid out; ‘Let me get those chunks of ice out of your back,’" he said, adding critics were overreacting.
Jordan shares a long-standing relationship with Reddick and his family through their extended NASCAR ties, making the interaction appear, to many, like a light-hearted moment blown out of proportion.
