Delhi Police Arrest 'Madam Zeher', Alleged Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Operative Posing As Beautician

Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested Khushnuma Ansari, alias Neha or “Madam Zeher,” for her alleged role in assisting the Lawrence Bishnoi gang while posing as a beautician.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested Khushnuma Ansari, alias Neha, allegedly known within criminal circles as ‘Madam Zeher’, in a major operation targeting associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Ansari was apprehended along with alleged sharpshooter Mahfooz Ali, alias Bobby Kabootar, near the Mahipalpur flyover in southwest Delhi following a coordinated interception based on specific intelligence inputs.

According to news agency PTI, the Counter-Intelligence Unit of the Special Cell laid a trap after receiving information about the movement of the accused persons.

The SUV in which they were travelling was intercepted around midnight on Tuesday, and firearms were allegedly recovered during the operation.

Police booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Arms Act.

Officials said the woman had been under surveillance for some time and was suspected of being an active member of the gang’s network.

She was allegedly found in possession of narcotics at the time of her arrest and is currently being questioned about her role in facilitating the syndicate’s activities and its suspected drug supply chain, PTI reported.

Investigators said Ansari projected herself publicly as a makeup artist and ran a beauty parlour in northeast Delhi, which police now suspect was used as a cover while she remained involved in organised criminal operations.

Sources told PTI that her exact role within the syndicate was still being ascertained, though investigators believe she played a key supporting role in the gang’s functioning.

A report by Moneycontrol claimed that Ansari had been associated with Kabootar for nearly seven years.

Police sources have allegedly referred to her as “Madam Zeher" due to her suspected involvement in narcotics operations.

Bobby Kabootar, arrested in the same operation, had been absconding for nearly seven years and was a close associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Investigations have revealed that Kabootar was actively involved in the syndicate’s criminal activities and had allegedly conducted reconnaissance ahead of the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala by gathering ground-level intelligence.

Police sources told PTI that Kabootar is wanted in multiple criminal cases, including several murder investigations, and has remained on the Delhi Police’s wanted list for years.

Authorities are now probing whether Ansari played a logistical or financial role in supporting the gang’s wider operations, including narcotics trafficking.

Officials said the arrest marks a significant breakthrough for the Special Cell as investigators attempt to dismantle the gang’s operational network in Delhi and adjoining regions.

Further interrogation of Ansari is underway to trace alleged drug links, identify other associates, and establish the full extent of her involvement in the syndicate.
