NEW DELHI: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is planning to introduce hot-air balloon rides at the Yamuna and Commonwealth Games Village sports complexes, with the aim of boosting tourism and generating revenue. The landowning agency has floated a tender inviting private operators to run the recreational activity on a revenue-sharing basis. Selected firms will get 60x60 metre plots at each site, permission to advertise on the balloons, and a three-year licence extendable up to nine years. Each operator will be allowed up to four hours of flying daily, with scope for additional hours on approval. While pricing will be set by the firms, DDA has asked that rates remain reasonable.
