Dhanbad gears up for NEET retest on June 21

Dhanbad: The district administration completed preparations for the re-conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination, scheduled to be held on June 21 at seven examination centres across Dhanbad district.

To ensure the examination is conducted peacefully, fairly and without any malpractice, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan through video conferencing.During the meeting, the deputy commissioner issued necessary instructions to magistrates, police officials and centre superintendents deployed on examination duty in accordance with the joint order issued by the administration.

He stressed the importance of maintaining strict vigilance and adhering to all prescribed protocols to ensure a transparent and malpractice-free examination process.The DC also directed members of the district-level coordination committee (DLCC) to undertake a comprehensive review of arrangements at all examination centres and verify compliance with all guidelines issued for the conduct of the examination.

He informed officials that a dedicated control room would remain operational throughout the examination period to effectively monitor the situation and maintain law and order.According to the district administration, the NEET (UG) 2026 examination will be re-conducted at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Dhanbad; Degree College RSP-2, Jamadoba; BIT Sindri; Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University; IIT (ISM) Dhanbad; SSLNT College, Dhanbad; and R S More College, Govindpur.The examination for general candidates will be held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, while candidates under the Persons With Disabilities (PWD) category will be allowed additional time, with the examination continuing until 6:15 pm.The meeting was attended by all deputed magistrates, police officials, centre superintendents and other officers.
