Intel-based operation in Ganderbal leads to militant contact and ongoing search

An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists after the ultras opened fire on security forces during a cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday night, officials said. The operation was launched in the Arhama area following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.
The gunbattle is underway as the security forces are retaliating with two to three terrorists trapped.
