Times News NetworkPanchkula: Panchkula municipal commissioner Vinay Kumar on Wednesday instructed sanitation staff that no garbage vulnerable point (GVP) should be neglected, and waste collection from such areas be carried out regularly daily.In addition, directions were issued to gradually reduce the number of existing GVPs in a planned and phased manner. Kumar passed these directions while chairing a joint meeting with door-to-door sanitation workers, assistant sanitary inspectors (ASIs), and supervisors at the community centre in Sector 12.The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination between the municipal corporation’s sanitation staff and the agency engaged in door-to-door waste collection and garbage lifting, in order to make the city’s sanitation system more efficient and streamlined.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on making the sanitation system more organized, effective, and citizen-friendly.Issuing strict directions to supervisors, Kumar told them to conduct regular field visits and personal inspections to ensure that no garbage heaps were found in any sector or public place. He emphasized that negligence at any level in the sanitation system would not be tolerated.

The commissioner also directed the door-to-door waste collection staff to respond promptly to information and calls received from supervisory staff and ensure the immediate removal of garbage from identified locations.The municipal chief stated that the civic body’s objective was not limited to maintaining cleanliness, but also to providing citizens with a healthier and cleaner environment. He urged all officials and employees to work in coordination and with a spirit of teamwork to further strengthen Panchkula’s image as a clean and beautiful city.During the meeting, various issues related to sanitation management were reviewed, while grievances and suggestions raised by employees were also heard. The commissioner directed the officials concerned to ensure prompt resolution of urgent matters.
