A Gujarat man has accused a father and son of entering his courtyard and beating his tied pet dog. The complaint has triggered a police probe and fresh outrage over alleged animal cruelty.

A case of alleged animal cruelty in Gujarat has sparked outrage after a father-son duo were accused of brutally beating a neighbour’s pet dog that was tied inside a house courtyard.
The incident came to light after the dog’s owner approached the police and filed a complaint against the two accused.
According to the complaint, the dog was tied with a rope in the courtyard when the accused, Mahendra Singh Jadeja and his son Abhiraj Singh Jadeja, entered the premises and began attacking the animal.
The duo allegedly used sticks and pipes to beat the dog repeatedly.
Witnesses said the animal cried in pain as the assault continued.
The accused reportedly targeted the dog over complaints that it used to bark at children and chase them when it was outside the house.
Angered by this, the father and son allegedly decided to attack the animal.
The dog’s owner has lodged a complaint at the University police station.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter, and further action is underway.
