Ron and Barbara Timmermans were flying their small Beechcraft A36 on Wednesday evening when they realized they needed to make an emergency landing. As mentioned in a report by KLTV, “oil covering the windshield” made it hard for them to see, prompting the urgent call for help.While trying to land near Brownsboro, Texas, the plane hit a power line and crashed close to some homes.

It went down nose-first with the tail sticking up, making a shocking and horrific scene for everyone watching.

Neighbors witness chaos and a miracle

While the couple tragically did not survive, their small lapdog managed to escape the crash unharmed. Neighbors rushed to help after hearing the plane go down; Mary Ann Shoulders described the frightening moment to KLTV:“It was just loud, just mangling. You could hear the metal mangling and stuff.”She also recalled seeing Barbara after the crash:“I saw the woman, and I didn’t recognize her because I thought it might be one of our neighbors, but I didn’t recognize her.”

The Timmermans ran an aviation business in the Orlando area. Ron, in particular, was known for his role as a flight instructor, training hundreds of pilots over the years. He’s done hundreds of hours of interviews with people in the aviation industry.”Colleagues and friends remember the couple as passionate about flying and deeply committed to the aviation community.
