According to the Indian Embassy, the discussions were wide-ranging and built on ongoing dialogue between the two sides.

During the visit, Misri held meetings with Under Secretaries Michael Duffey and Elbridge Colby at the Pentagon.
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met senior officials from the United States Department of Defense and the United States Department of Commerce during a three-day visit, holding discussions aimed at strengthening defence and trade relations while reviewing key global developments.
During the visit, Misri held meetings with Under Secretaries Michael Duffey and Elbridge Colby at the Pentagon. Talks focused on enhancing defence cooperation and exchanging perspectives on evolving situations in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia.
According to the Indian Embassy, the discussions with Colby were wide-ranging and built on ongoing dialogue between the two sides. Colby had visited India last month, where he met Misri in New Delhi on the sidelines of the India-US Defence Policy Group meeting.
Misri also held a separate meeting with Duffey, focusing on strengthening defence industrial collaboration, technology partnerships, and supply chain linkages. These efforts align with the broader framework of the bilateral Major Defence Partnership agreed upon last year.
At the Department of Commerce, Misri met Under Secretaries Jeffrey Kessler and William Kimmitt to discuss expanding cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. The talks also emphasised the importance of building resilient and trusted supply chains as part of efforts to transform India-US economic ties for the 21st century.
The visit comes amid efforts by India and the US to stabilise relations following a period of strain. Tensions had risen after the US imposed punitive tariffs on Indian goods and after comments by Donald Trump regarding his role in de-escalating India-Pakistan military tensions last year.
Officials on both sides indicated that the latest engagements reflect a renewed push to sustain momentum in strategic cooperation and reinforce the long-term trajectory of the India-US partnership.
