New Delhi: Four women were rescued after police busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a building on Qutub Road in Paharganj during a raid Thursday.Police said the operation was launched following a tip-off about illegal activities on the premises.
A team from Nabi Karim police station was formed, and a constable was deployed as a decoy customer to verify the information, deputy commissioner of police Rohit Rajbir Singh said.After confirming the activity, police raided the premises and arrested a 29-year-old man, identified as Shahrukh, who is accused of running the racket. Four women were rescued during the operation.Legal action has been initiated against the owner of the rented property under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Separate FIRs have been registered under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the BNS.Police said relevant evidence was seized from the premises, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of other persons linked to the alleged racket.
