Following a surprising setback in the 2026 Assembly elections, K.B. Ganesh Kumar has said that his commitment to the constituency remains unshaken despite losing his legislative seat. Addressing his supporters and the media, the Kerala Congress (B) leader made it clear that he has no intention of moving away from Pathanapuram.

“I remain deeply indebted to the 59,965 voters who placed their trust in me and the Left Democratic Front (LDF),” he said promising that both he and his office will remain fully operational within the constituency to serve the people’s needs.

Ganesh Kumar observed that a single electoral defeat does not signal the end of a political journey or the dissolution of a movement. “Wins and losses are inherent to politics and the strength of the Kerala Congress (B) is not tethered solely to a single MLA position,” he said. He pointed out that the party maintains a significant grassroots presence with a strong contingent of municipal vice-chairpersons, councillors, standing committee chairpersons, and ward members across various local bodies, ensuring that the party’s administrative and social influence remains intact.

Reflecting on the results, he admitted that the defeat in Pathanapuram,a constituency he has represented for over two decades, was unexpected.

“The party is now in a phase of introspection rather than mourning. The failure is being viewed as a starting point for a total organizational overhaul,” he says. According to the leader, the party is prepared to acknowledge its shortcomings and take corrective measures to bridge the gaps that led to the current electoral outcome.

Looking toward the future, Ganesh Kumar announced a plan to start from scratch, focusing on revitalizing the party’s machinery from the booth level upward. Expressing total confidence that Kerala Congress (B) and the LDF would reclaim their lost ground through intensified public engagement and organizational discipline, he and his party will always be there to address local grievances. “The party will return with greater strength in the coming days,” he added.
