With the flood level rising to 48 ft in Godavari at Bhadrachalam in Telangana, the Irrigation Department officers issued the second warning on Sunday (August 31, 2025). The Eluru district officials cautioned people staying along the river bund on the rising flood. Boats have been arranged to supply provisions and vegetables to the flood victims.
Collector K. Vetri Selvi has directed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the flood duty officers to be alert and take up rescue-and-rehabilitation operations in the cut-off habitations. “We distributed onions, potatoes, green chilli, tomato and other essentials to the villagers in Velerupadu and Kukunur mandals,” said Jangareddygudem Revenue Division Officer (RDO) M.V. Ramana, who is monitoring the operations said.

The Central Water Commission (CWC) officials said that owing to incessant rainfall in the catchment areas flood level was rising in Godavari river. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 10th Battalion Commandant V.V.N. Prasanna Kumar said the teams were put on alert owing to Godavari floods.
“Police arranged pickets at the points where floodwater inundated roads cutting road communication to the tribal habitations in the Agency areas. Road communication to many villages from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has been cut-off as flood level reached the second warning of 48 ft on Sunday (August 31, 2025),” say the locals.
