District Collector Sridhar Chamakuri on Thursday directed the officials of the Industries Department to issue approvals without any delay under the single-window system to boost the rural economy and employment generation in Annamayya district.

Reviewing the District Industries and Export Promotion Committee meeting here on Thursday, the Collector said that the system had already approved 845 of the 923 applications received for setting up new industries under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), while 78 units remained pending for verification. He informed the officials to resolve the remaining cases within the stipulated timeframe.

Highlighting the need to boost entrepreneurship among women and youth, the Collector said that the small and medium enterprises would get top priority and support from the government. “We have already approved subsidies worth ₹56 lakhs for 19 units in the manufacturing and services sectors under the investment and power incentive initiatives,” he said, directing the bankers to clear pending applications filed under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the PM Vishwakarma scheme.
