Rishikesh Mob Violence: In a shocking incident, two Haryana tourists were stripped naked and brutally trashed on a busy road by an angry mob in Rishikesh after being accused of harassing and making obscene gestures to a minor girl.

According to reports, the incident took place along the Rishikesh-Haridwar National Highway when the youths, who were travelling in a car, allegedly made obscene gestures toward a minor girl. Locals claimed that the girl informed nearby people about the incident, triggering outrage among bystanders.

At first, a heated argument broke out between the two groups, but the situation soon became violent. The crowd stopped the car on the road and began throwing stones at it.

The youths inside the car were then assaulted by the mob. They were allegedly stripped and dragged out of the vehicle. One of them was reportedly beaten while being paraded naked on the road. The incident created chaos in the area and led to heavy traffic disruption on the National Highway.

Videos of the incident also went viral on social media platforms. As per the video, one of the accused can be seen running around naked, trying to save himself from the assault. However, the mob can be seen continuing the assault. In other visuals, a car can be seen completely vandalised after the mob attack.

After some time, police from the IDPL Chowki reached the spot, brought the situation under control, and took the injured tourists to the hospital for medical check-up. Later, all those involved were taken to the police outpost.

According to Free Press Journal, Rishikesh Kotwali inspector Kailash Chandra Bhatt said that a case has been filed against Ashok Thapa, Amit, Naresh, Ayush, and some unidentified people in connection with the incident. The FIR includes charges such as attempt to murder, causing serious injuries, unlawful gathering, threats, and vandalism.

Police also said that the other side has not yet filed any formal complaint regarding the original allegations of molestation.
