Oliver Rowland is on a roll this season as well after winning the Formula E World Championship last season. The reigning Nissan champion secured his third podium of the season in Jeddah on Saturday, finishing third in the Round 5 race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

He was joined on the podium by his daughter Harper once again as they posed happily with his trophy, just a day after he felt frustrated about not getting the desired results in the Round 4 race.

Oliver Rowland thanks his team for improving the car before Jeddah podium

Oliver Rowland finished third in part two of the Jeddah doubleheader, which had Jaguar TCS Racing’s Antonio Felix da Costa as the winner and Envision Racing’s Sebastien Buemi in second.Speaking from the heart after the race and thanking his team for their support, Rowland said in a statement, “Yesterday I was pulling my hair out! The last two races I struggled quite a lot; I just had no pace.

Last night we changed quite a lot of stuff, so I’m really pleased to be back on the podium. Thanks to my whole team as they stayed late last night and they did a great job.”

Opening up more about his race strategy, he added, “I just wanted to stay out of trouble. From third or fourth backward, it’s quite dangerous with people coming on the outside, and honestly I could go so slow at some points that I could control the pace and be quite comfortable with my target.

Of course, Antonio got a slight advantage and I wouldn’t have beaten him today. I think with a slightly different strategy on my side with the Attack Mode I could have finished second, but anyway I’m still happy with third.
